The mission of Silverlake Scream Show is to ensure that emerging genre filmmakers have equitable access to educational and financial resources. We empower artists to produce professional-quality films that enrich and elevate the genre, and we foster community through inclusive educational events and exciting networking opportunities.
Applications Now Open for 2026 Cohort
6 filmmakers are chosen to receive a financial grant, production resources and creative support as they craft a horror short.
Selected shorts will premiere October 2026 as part of Silverlake Scream Show Vol.5.
Los Angeles is brimming with young, talented filmmakers waiting for their chance to prove their bonafides, especially in the horror/genre space. In the current landscape, we believe that shorts are the single best way to get attention and build credibility in the film industry.
Each year, we host a range of screening events that showcase the work of short filmmakers, alongside talks from established filmmakers who share insights into their creative process and how they navigate the industry. Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming events!
